THE SKINNY LEGS LEGACY

Skinny Legs & Cowgirls was a successful independent restaurant built by mother-daughter duo, Susan and Amy Kellock. Talented and determined, they put everything they had on the line to chase their dream. The pair found a little hole-in-the-wall space on the east end of Jasper Avenue and transformed it into one of Edmonton’s best and most acclaimed fine dining restaurants.

Taught by master chef Susan, Amy has adapted and enhanced her mother’s genius in the kitchen. Now applying her own creativity and ingenuity, she has hit the road as a personal chef to bring the culinary craft of the Skinny Legs and Cowgirls Restaurant to your table.

AN ODE TO TOM ROBBINS

Sprung from their shared passion for American novelist Tom Robbins, Amy and Susan landed on the name ‘Skinny Legs and Cowgirls’, an amalgamation of two Robbins’ classics: ‘Skinny Legs and All’ and ‘Even Cowgirls Get the Blues’. Designed by Amy, the dining room was adorned with vintage decor, antique accents and family heirlooms.

Skinny Legs and Cowgirls was an experience. Puzzling to some and endearing to most, the namesake of the restaurant was a statement of creativity and originality, highlighted by exquisite food and drinks. Amy continues to bring her attentive details to every dish she plates.

And for the record, Amy’s favourite Tom Robbins novel will always be Jitterbug Perfume - perhaps a future venture waiting to be named.
